Peace Lutheran Church adopted the following Mission Statement as an integral part of its role:
"We are committed to invite all to know and believe in Christ Jesus, and join us to live as Christ's Servants ministering to folks in our midst, in our community, and in our world."
That original Mission Statement continues to inform our work in mission today. We invite members of the communities where we serve to join and collaborate as we together serve those in need. In mission we come to know Christ in those we serve and in those we serve with.
In 2014 the Board of Directors for PLC discerned a change in focus and direction for the congregation and a more local focus in mission. Many who had been involved with the PLC Dental Mission joined together and with the blessings and support of the board of Directors of PLC decided to continue the dental mission efforts and establish an independent dental Mission.
Christ Smiles Dental Mission became a new entity carrying on the good work begun by Jesus Christ through the efforts of members of PLC and others from many parts of the USA who participated in the missions. Formal organization of Christ Smiles Dental Mission was completed in 2015 with a Board of Trustees and a core group volunteer participants and advisors.
No one involved with the organization of Christ Smiles Dental Mission is paid for their services.
Christ Smiles Dental Mission relies solely on the private donations of funds, goods and services from individuals, churches, businesses, community organizations, foundations and fundraisers. As a registered 501(c)(3) your donations are tax deductible as the law allows.
